I swapped this ported 7910 with 046 piston topend to another 6421 chassis. The bottom end it was on was going out (pto bearing play). I decided to do a little work to the jug/piston while it was apart. On first start it was sucking the choke shut on full throttle and I had to wind the spring tighter. After that I ran a 32” and 8 pin full comp in oak to stress test it.
This modded 50mm OE hangs with the 7910 with the big bar. Surprised me. The b/c is the same other than being touched up a swipe or two. 7910 has the torque advantage for sure, it was running a 8 pin and the 372 a 7. As far as cut speed goes they are close considering the 7.8cc difference between them.

Wait, that's hard oak, it's still got the bark lol.
Is that the same chain you used on that pine tree :D.

Some what, huskys .
No. I had a fresh ground, unused loop and just put it on. But I did use it on the pine I fell today. Tore that chit up, even after the load of oak.

Pretty crazy the difference between green hardwood and seasoned hardwood, then you get into some pine and you about drop the bar in the dirt because its through it so fast.
Here's some chips from that pine I was cutting in the other day(346 video), not used to that on all the dead wood I cut.

Many guys put large rims on their saws to show off at the GTGs. Works well for the softwood cant competition, but in hardwood, a 7 pin rim will usually be best for matching the saw's max power to optimum chain speed in the cut (for almost any non piped, gas/fuel saw under 90 cc).
