Just my opinion but I think it's OEM and the air filter cover was probably sold and then replaced at some point, the rest of the plastic matches, if someone built it from parts, they did a dang fine job. Either way the owner has a gem for sure

The 064 is an odd model. They produced them until the mid 2000s for the german army.

Technical Information 51/94 (released Dec '94) says they used the coil part# 11224001311 since serial# X31067164

So at the end of 1994 they already had the serial#131067164 so the saw must be produced before that date.

I say run it the same way I run mine. These dang things needed a decomp valve. My arm and shoulder are usually both worn out after cold starting them. The compression is huge and so is the 064's power. After I get it going, it never lets me down. You gotta love this saw.

I vote factory built. But if it isn’t it’s well done! Do replacement cases has a serial number? Never had a set of replacements. And what year did stihl go to plastic top tags instead of metal?

It was built from NOS parts.

1.- Metal badge top cover and starter housing saws never had the clear tank.

2.- It has the later style IIDA coil which is too new for the listed serial number.

3.- The filter base has the relief for the Intellicarb.

4.- If it were an original saw it would have the 1st Gen HD air filter (If it was sold in the U.S.)

5.- Metal-badge saws had a different muffler that was longer, due to the exhaust port being set further back.

There was a rev-limited ignition/flywheel combo on the 064 for a time but it was not a Red-Light saw.
It was a similar CDIC "shoebox" coil comparable to the one fitted on the Red Light 066 (1303 coil vs. 1307).

if "H" is a date code it's 1981 (unlikely) or 2007. it doesn't have a part number on it. also stihl doesn't make the coil so I don't know if the code is right or not.
