Here are the logs ready to receive rafters and floor joists.

Dan, will the majority of the receptacles be in the baseboard, or will they be mortised into the wall?

If you look close they are there. We use a router on the bench before installing the logs.

No, you have to come up thru the floor.......drill each log as you go up.

I built a Heritage years ago. They pre drilled for the thru bolt system. After I built that one they started predrilling everything on center for the the bolts and electrical chases.

Yeah, I measure and drill on the horses with a 1" auger bit. Than I chase it with an 1-1/8" holesaw because the holes tend to be stringy with the pine being wet. The Holesaw cleans it up. Than every 5 or 6 courses I chase it with a 4' flex auger but to lose some of the steps from being off a little.
I use to drill each log after installing but they fill up with chips and it would take me a couple days with a snake trying to get all the holes cleaned out. Especially the ones that go from bottom to the top.

I love those old work boxes. It's much nicer to attach to a stud than use the finger type on the drywall.

I just wish they made them in a narrower depth. I'd like to leave a little more meat behind them for insulation purposes. But I'm not complaining when I'm tucking joints in the boxes...
