I really like the hinge on the front exhaust. That is a really cool idea, I may have to put one of those on mine! This muffler I was just about to put in the scrap bin but I thought I should fix it, the front exit was ripped out and missing and it had 3 big cracks and had been sitting outside under a tree for years.
I noticed that. I wasn't sure if that's how they were originally, as they're normally so beaten up.I really like the hinge on the front exhaust. That is a really cool idea, I may have to put one of those on mine!
No, they are not typically like that. Usually the front plate is held down by four screws. This one has been modified with a cool hinge modification! Easy to get in and clean the spark arrestor...if it has one.I noticed that. I wasn't sure if that's how they were originally, as they're normally so beaten up.
I'll have to look at mine when I get a chance, I think it's been welded up and just exits out the side. No, they are not typically like that. Usually the front plate is held down by four screws. Here is a standard one.

It looks good. Less screws to vibrate looseI welded the hinge on, it was from a small wooden box as I couldn't get screws in as i didn't leave enough steel and I haven't had much luck with them staying in
