Great Thread.........you lucky rascal.
Thanks Randy, learned from watching all of you that decided to share your knowledge with all of us riff raff.
Stuff some extra bananas in that saw for Dallas, he's one hell of a guy. Sent me a second piston, even after what I did to his first one!

Ran the rest of the tank today.
25" bar, buried in willow.
Wasn't impressed.
Slug & jug seemed dirty and blackened.
I believe incomplete combustion.
Added D-ring starter, advanced timing.
Feels much better now.
Starts easy, faster throttle response, no lag coming up to speed.

I haven't put mine in wood yet with the advance, but I'm sure it was an improvement.
That flywheel really didn't want to come off, ripped two threads off of my brandy new OEM flywheel puller before finally giving way. Found galling on both flywheel and crank.
Don't want to do it again.

IMG_1846.JPG I guess I skipped details on the muffler modifications on account of my piston coming apart.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
Pulled baffling.
Added second port with deflector brazed on and hogged out the original port.
No mod to front cover, might change.
Needs paint next time it's off.

Ran Again today.
Bucking and blocking a large willow with serious rot. Hell on the chain in some areas.
Video was late, chain was rough.
Tuned to 13,300.
Before timing advance I had trouble getting it below 14,400, even 3 turns out, lacked torque.
Now it tunes normally.
