Explain [Clip] when porting.

I see the word clip when one is in a port related thread. I have an idea,but maybe it's best that I don't guess.

Some do but I don't, I just barely touch it.

Yes. Everything you do below the piston increases case capacity and in most cases you don't want that.

I could really use one of them dar cylinders. My next build is a flat top 066 red light. It came with a 660 cylinder and wanted on original one for it. [emoji20]

There's a hard shoulder where that lip is. When they say clip, they are blending/radiusing it in with the bore so there's a soft ramp instead of the sharp shoulder.
