I posted in your other thread as well.

The 590,600,620 while being almost identical on the outside.

The timing in the jugs is different, only slightly on the 590-600 quite a bit on the 620.

Imo the 590/600 won't gain anything measuable from just a gasket delete.

Getting the tune dialed in, will show more of a gain in the wood.

These get nasty loud in a hurry, I would do just a 1/4-5/16 hole in the flat under the tube if you are worried about the noise. Should be a good compromise. Noise vs flow.

Yup saw it, are most of you guys on both? So option 3, second pic but ~1/4 hole?

Never modded an echo, but I like noise. I'd gut the whole thing and make an exit hole the size of the cylinder exhaust port. I might die deaf, but I had fun doing it

I always wear ear plugs anyway... but living in "suburbia", I like to be somewhat considerate of my neighbors. Even if most of them are deaf... I mean old ;)

Like Red97 and others have said these series for Echo's get truly obnoxious in a hurry.
Picture's # 2 and the last 2 on #4 are what I posted on A.S. and I will tell you they are stupid loud. Extremely raspy and just a crude tone.
I have modded about 7-8 of these muffler's and anymore I just pull the bottom deflector out and call it good.
One of the last muffler I did I got curious and drilled 2 holes (just under a 1/4" each) near the front side of the exit tube and it really didn't change the volume (I was at dads with 2 new 590's cutting/tuning and he said they sounded the same. The bottom deflector removed, vs. 2 small holes muffler) of the saw and I couldn't tell a power difference either.
I'll post a picture in a minute.

I did #3 first picture with larger holes, it improved flow and gave the saw a mellow growl . I think the best thing you can do to them is trim the tabs , open the can to your liking then run the hell out of it. They get better by the gallon.

Very true. They are slow to break inn and it's very frustrating. Some patients and good things will come

Ok with all that you tried for performance, and noise levels what pic was the most effective for the power gain and lower noise level?

number 4 at the top of the page made the most noticeable difference i did it in increments to 3/8 but i have not tried a dual port i have another 590 I'm going to try that on my new one.

I did a nice mm to cs510 a while back. Cut it in half removal of deflector and stock exit tube and installed a bigger ID exit tube it was a bit louder but made some great torque and rpm. The muffler cracked where it mates to the jug after a while when 1 screw came loose and didn't notice it. So I piped it
