It's the cross top end. Wood is ash, big yard tree. I have another video I made where I keep stopping to check the chain because I thought I hit metal or something. Chain wouldn't cut at all, but was nothing wrong with it. I'll take some pics of the grain in it.

I cut a ash the other day and it destroyed my chain 3 times. Some hard chit.

I milled Ash (and one Black Cherry) for the posts & beams in my hunting cabin. When drilling 1/2" holes in it, the Ash is twice as tough as the Cherry. You won't hammer a nail in it w/o drilling it first.

Id like to make a couple handles for files. Also gonna make a few little shelves. Maybe a new cutting board. The last cutting board I made was out of ash. Not as nice as this stuff though.

Years ago, my cousin did some furniture (stools, etc) with Ash & Cherry, contrasted really well.

I've had some super hard ash here too. It sat for a year after it was cut. That stuff you have looks awesome to really test a Saw.

I don't get a chance to cut stuff thst big very often. Was like a little kid on Christmas. Haha
