Finished up the last 10’ or so of sewer pipe that needed to be replaced, and cleaned up/graveled the driveway... probably do concrete or asphalt at some point down the road.F0A47992-CCD4-465B-8EA2-A032AB5EC7A9.jpeg 985D41C9-ACFF-4B79-8869-8F5675DC4E71.jpeg

And I built a couple more planter boxes for my wife’s garden area. I still need to build gates, but i think it’s looking pretty good.49461C34-64A6-46BD-BB4B-98A2B8895B1F.jpeg

I had to cut a hole in the stucco to pull the wires into the panel, and somebody had already cut a hole above the panel and just screwed a piece of plywood in there, so I made a patch to cover it all up. Not perfect, but better than a big *a-hole in the side of the house. It kinda matches one someone put on the front of the house, so I’m okay with it.

I feel like I'm finally making progress. Roofing metal is on and I'm working on some siding and stall walls while my wife stains fascia. Once its stained I'll put the eave edge, exterior corner, and ridge cap on.

Cool. It looks like over built overkill.

Did the siding come t&g or butt ends?

I love it. Looked up router bits last night. Considering going with vertical walls like yours inside with t&g and ship-lap type live edge outside.

Anyone doing live edge ship- lap type siding?
I could use some tips on thickness vs width. Considering going 12-18" wide @6/4

It probably is over kill. The siding is 1x10, no T&G. If I had a router I would T&G the inside walls though. I'll be using 2x8 (or wider) rough cut hemlock laid horizontally. I'll probably pass it though my plainer to make the one side smooth so the horse blankets don't get snagged.

Everyone I talked to about Hemlock in ME regretted using it outside for siding. They said over time it warped. I have none.
Just hardwoods, spruce, white or yellow pine. Poplar and birch might be nice for build in stuff like shelves and such. Locust for the floor or white oak in my shack.

Your new abode will be a fine building for man or beast.

I'm pretty sure the 1x10 siding is pine. I'm not 100% sure though, I acquired it from my father.

Finally kicked the temporary stairs out and started building this new entry from the garage to the house. Got to attach the top and build 2 doors on top and drawers for the bottom. The kids shoes and stuff is out of control. I’m not much better

Very nice!

You say you're 2 meters deep? That's a little further in the ground than I would prefer to be, with no shoring on the trench walls.

Moving right along with the deck. Now the fun part driving all the screws and then building the handrails.
