Can all Stihl 070 be upgraded to 090?

Yep. The 66mm top end will fit.
The clutch is weaker on the 070, but it will hold up ok.

I think you did one of these builds a few years ago that actually inspired this saw search. This one has a flat recoil housing so it threw me off.

Doh! Good thing I didn't order a cylinder yet! Too many chainsaws, not enough sleep. I guess I'm still looking for the 070. Let's forget this ever happened.

I have yet to "suffer" from CAD
I'm actually glad it was posted. I'm on the track of an 070 and now I don't have to dig up an old thread to check if the top fits.
