That's funny, I was looking for a pair of HD spikes, and the only place I found them is on HLSupply... And the saw is still unavailable in the USA :bash:

The larger "west coast" spikes for these saws are the same as on the 372/390/576.

That's what I saw, but shouldn't be the outer one different? The clutch cover isn't the same...
The west coast cover is shared with the 576 I think (which in turn is the same as 372/390 west coast cover but grey, so people who don’t like the grey can put a orange cover on if they desire).

I had/have both, 565 and 572xp. Only differences i had found are the coil, carb software and crankstuffers.

Some of the early info about shared parts was incorrect. Cylinder, carb, and coil are all different between the 565 and 572. (piston is the same)

I’m guessing the transfer covers are larger on 572? Kind of like the 562/555.

That's correct. The large cover isn't simply a wider version of the standard cover, they go to the 576/390 W cover.

I’m guessing the outer dog would fit all the covers if they fit the same saw?

That's just more of the early stuff; I had the same info myself. IPL's have changes since then.

P&C numbers are:
565--590 150 302
572--590 150 301

Carbs
565--591 158 302
572--591158301

Coils
565--582 105 001
572--575 526 601

ok, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info!
I'm actually working on a 572, i will take some pic's of the cylinder and make comparison with my 565 pics.

How’s it compare to the ported 562?

The real interesting question in my mind is how the 565 will compare to a 562, cause at current pricing, we are only talking a $50 difference between the 2 of them. That's gonna be a real easy step for someone who might be looking for a bit more saw than a 562. Except for guys who would object to the extra weight, I think the 565 would be a strong seller.

That would be very good. If things are like the 555/562, the 572 transfer covers should bulge out a little more. They should also have part numbers on them although they aren't parts that can be ordered.

So I guess there's 3 different clutch covers for the saw, right? The one in the picture (same as mine), the same with 2 holes for the small spike and a large one for the HD spikes?
