I found a super clean 365 it had the zama carb on it. It wouldn’t run googled the carb saw they were not the best. Saw they had new model zama to replace the old. It was only 20 so I wasn’t to confident. Still don’t run can get it to idle but bogs with throttle. Hold pressure and vac so what carb should I get to replace it. Pretty sure the HD12 is the one just wanted to double check. I am getting a timing wheel and am going to try and port it if that makes any difference. I have a 372 some one did some work on that has the 390 carb on it. But I don’t think this thing will need that.

Is the new carb oem or aftermarket? It should say Zama and C3M on it.

Check the impulse line and check that the carb mount bracket isn’t warped

It’s the new c3m I’ll check after the kids go to bed . The lines felt and looked good. I took the muffler off the piston and ring looks good too. Don’t have a compression gauge but it has some thump too it. Are the c3m carbs good to go?

HD 12 is the Walbro replacement for the Zama I gather?
I'd prefer the Walbro over Zama.

Evidently the Zamas haven't faired much better since Stihl bought them, I was in a Stihl dealership today & he had 2-5 gallon buckets full of defective Zamas.
I'm sure a lot of them were weedeater carbs tho.

My 575 has a zama and it works great. But to replace it the carb is like 160. 20 dollar carb just seems suspect to me. I am just playing so I will try and eliminate all things before the carb.

I just bought a few to have on hand at a similar price. They were oem also

The Jonsered 2165 is what I used for a carb on my clone 365.
I buy used carbs and rebuild them , I know they had to have run to be used.

I've had good luck with the Zama carbs on 372s but the cheapest I've found them is $30 and that was a couple of years ago. Can you post a link to the $20 Zama carbs, I'd like to buy a couple?

It’s from baileys but I don’t think it’s a Zama. There is no makings on it like the old one.

Ok that’s what I was starting to guess. I stole the the gaskets and diaphragms out of it and put them in the original. I have the top end off right now. I was checking the intake boot and the lines. Going try and get it back together and see what happens.

Take a look at the manifold bracket. They leak after being over tightened

Yes. Lay it on a flat surface and see if it’s straight
I laid it on my bench and you can clearly see daylight under the middle. Is it just junk and needs to be replaced then?
