Identical saws are more expensive in Croatia than in Greece!I can find a brand new 681 at 1.000euros. But with another 75€ shipping to States that must be the price.
My wallet is a little upset with me and my compulsiveness. Lets see what it looks like first......But yes I have already searched for 7910 cylinders Lol. on a side note I'll finish up a 7300 project in the morning that has been a pain in my arse. I took it in on trade and didn't give it a solid once over and it has taught me a valuable lesson. It's got more new parts than I can shake a stick at. Replaced crankshaft, all new AV mounts, ignition coil (from a generous member here) New plug wire, spark plug boot, kill switch wires, kill switch, bearings and seals, case gasket, intake manifold, fuel line, brake band. I'm sure i'm forgetting something.......JMS must have some kin folk in Spartanburg. I'll never make a dollar off it but I'll be glad to see it go... as a respectable saw that deserved a second chance. Hard lessons are the best ones learned.
That thought has crossed my mind. She's not much of a looker but I was pretty impressed with how it ran. BTW Oiler worm gear "wings" are shot after the first couple of test cuts. Should have replaced it too....... It's back on the shelf for now. That being the case, for me, she’d be a keeper
That's pretty tall pricing for the Solo. How does that compare to the Dolmar/Makita pricing in Croatia and Greece? I assume they are heavily taxed. Is there another reason they are so expensive?
I need Solo parts....and Rottman never follows thru.
Dang it Dave I didn't need to hear thatOne saw I shipped disappeared for a week but did arrive eventually.
After work I’ll dig it outMailman showed up yesterday with a package. Yay!!!! Had a chance to go over it yesterday afternoon. Cylinder looked great thru the plug hole. 3 pullS and it was at 185 PSI. Saw is in pretty good condition. Replaced an AV spring, kill switch, wires and installed a carb kit. Runs great. I’m pretty happy. @Deets066 I called the makita dealer this morning to check on the brake handle. It never got ordered. You still wanna help a brotha out? PM me and I’ll send some $
I did this very thing once with a check to Minnesota. It some how made a detour to Las Vegas then 3 days later it showed up. The bastiges wouldn't refund me either.Last week I had to have a letter sent overnight from Buffalo to Rochester.
Guy at post office said I could put a stamp on it and it should be there no problem.
I declined and paid $25.50 for guaranteed overnight with delivery before noon.
I have little faith in them.
