I don't really know. All of mine have them so I don't have a perfect test mule. Lol

It might if they're clear to the piston cutaway when the uppers open or bore the ends through to the transfer tunnel.
Not sure if there'd be any real advantage though...

The notches in the uppers are a bit abrupt and are more likely to cause unwanted turbulence than beneficial aiming/direction. I'd at least blend them further into the roof.
