No worries Ryan. I have the HD2 I think on the saw now. I will buy one that you showed me too. I appreciate and value your insight. Please don't take anything the wrong way.
I think Doc is interested in this info too.

Looks like there is a winter air filter available for the ms261. I have no idea what it's made from and neither does my dealer. The PN is 1141 120 1602.
I'm gonna go ahead and order one and see what I get. Worst case I'll just keep it for a spare

[emoji106] Lol
I am going to hit you up for another 026 and 036 metal mesh before the GTGs if that is OK. [emoji2]
I can hook you up with the metal mesh filters but unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make it to either the CT or NY gtgs this year.

I have no idea If there's a performance difference, I just use them because I hate the design of the HD2 filter...my 261s didn't seem to run any different, just a helluva lot easier to clean the filter.

The HD filters for the MS261 asre really great ! But I the ones for the MS661 are not that good in my opinion sir.

It's not the filter. On the 661 they are still not using a separation system at the flywheel AKA air injection. The 441, 362, 261 all have that type of setup, and they have very good air filtration. The 661 is an antique in terms of particle separation.

Good systems separating the air or good air filters themselves ?
