I have a Partner 5000 Plus and wondered if anyone knew of the options available when it comes to sourcing compatible piston and cylinder. I remember reading somewhere that there is a meteor kit that can be used - maybe with slight modification. Any suggestions are most welcome.

Jonsered 490 and 590, Poulan 325, and the Husky 55 P/C are interchangeable. The Poulan is pretty much unobtainium in the US. The Jreds and the OEM 55 closed port kits are rare. There Chinesium 55 kits that aren't true CP to the original design.

I have a 490 and a 590 OEM kit that aren't for sale. I've been looking for a 325 for years and haven't been able to find one

From my limited experience parts for any of the afore mentioned models are not easy to find .I have a Partner 500 and a 5000 plus I landed extremely cheap .The 500 has extremely low compression .The 5000 plus runs okay but not as well as it should .I suspect it might need a ring of which it only uses one .Exactly what is wrong with the 500 I've yet to find out ,still too damned cold to find out .
Rings and pistons after market seem to be easy to find .Cylinders seem to be not so easy .Some appear to have reworked the crankcases to accept larger Husqvarna cylinders .Exactly which cylnder I cannot remember .
They say of all the 3 cubers ever made the 40 year old 5000 plus is still the king of the hill so to speak .Which like many things is debatable .

I have a low hour 5000+. I would say it is very close to a 346OE.
