I have a 261 mtronic saw. Are there any air filter options out there other than the stock air filter?

I know there’s two that I’ve seen, the yellow paper/flocked one and the hd2 style if I’m not mistaken. I would guess the hd2 flows better.

Is there something in particular you don't like about the HD2 Jeff? I just switched to tapping trees, but before this week I was running the snot out of my 261. I was running in pretty dirty dusty stuff (partially punky red oak). Probably put 10 tanks through it that previous week. I was amazed at how clean the filter stayed. I was running 3/8 semi chisel and keeping it sharp, but even still it was dusty stuff. I did tap it out a couple times and now I suppose I should wash it, but my experience with the HD2 has been pretty good. I think most of it is the air injection design, but it works pretty well in my opinion.

Thanks Ryan. I am really just information surfing. Saw is getting doctored up. [emoji6]
Just looking to see how the stock filters run and looking to see if anything else is out there unavailable. Lol
I have heard good things about the OEM HD2 stock filters. Always looking to see if something allows them to breathe easier and better. [emoji106]

I always gotta be ready for those Hooskie guys. Lol

OK good. Thank you sir.
That is kind of what I am looking for. [emoji106]
I was just putting the feelers out there. Didn't know if there was a metal mesh filter made??? Or anything that was better.

So Stihl makes it? It is better than HD2?

A Stihl dealer here wants $20 plus $1.08 sales tax. Seems like a lot of bread for a stock air filter. Reminds me of the Stihl 024 air filter syndrome. Guys were upgrading 024's to 026's just to get a $5 air filter that fit the 026. Otherwise, they had to shell out $30 for an 024 air filter. That nonsense is stihl going on.
