All this fuss about mulberry ,really in this area you don't see much of it . Black locust is also spotty as is ossage orange .What used to be is catalpa which years ago was grown in groves usually in some area of a field that was hard to farm because of various reasons .Those were used for fence posts ,In my 7.5 acres of woods I have exactly one catalpa which is slowly dying off .Couple more years it will become fodder for the stove
Black locust on the other hand is also invasive .Damned stuff propagates from the roots much like quaking aspen in the mountains of Colorado .In a former life with a former wife I ripped out about 3/4 of an acre taken over by locust .Bought that piece of ground and the courts took it away from me .On that piece of ground I recently bought it's got honey locust down one fence row .That stuff can grow thorns that mimic elk antlers

My last house had both black locust and honey locust....hated the thorns and the runners.

Fact is I've never seen a rubber tree nor a redwood for that matter .
Interesting about the redwoods. Do they not like growing where you are? They're very commonly planted down here in NZ , and we're a wee bit further from the PNW than you

Black Locust has short thorns when it is young but as it matures they disappear on all but the immature branches. If grown in narrow spacing they will grow very quickly and grow pretty straight and tall. In open areas that can get nasty though. Honey Locust is scrounge. That is what many think of when they hear Locust. It needs eliminated from any area. There are some that are thornless though but much more rare.

Funny, I spend very little time here.
Also is there a reason you will not answer if that is a picture of you?

It seems your sole purpose is to troll me. I find that odd. Possibly a hobby might suit you better

No it is not.

You are just trying to be a pest like you did on AS. You only posted in this thread to troll me. Would you please go find a different hobby.

If you fellas can't coexist peacefully, I might have to cut you both loose. So work this out....

Hell take it to a private conversation.
