Hi all,
I've rebuilt the case (block?) on an old FS80 strimmer (as they are called here in the UK) and it's all super air tight but still running like a dog, so have now started on trying to rebuilt the original Zama S63A carb (though i did have a brand new chinese carb on it and it still ran badly, so am a bit puzzled) but don't really know how to get the high screw out so i can soak the whole thing in acetone. It's blocked from turning by the split pin which i suspect is 'resined' in with plastic of some sort (the white bit above it in the pic).
Anyone ever got one of these out?
Many thanks.Zama_S63A_C1Q.jpg

Not sure, but the black plastic on the screw is a limit cap. Try prying on it at the arrow.

The pin is pressed into the carb body. The white insert is probably a friction plug that presses against the needle.

Brilliant, thanks all. Will give it a go in the morning and let you know/take a pic for reference...
