I bought a decent looking 288 high top in a Walmart parking lot... guy fired it up, piss revved it a couple times, and shut it off. When I got home I tried to start it, and it was locked up tighter than JMS' wallet on shipping day. :(

Can't remember what all it needed, but Jonathan ended up with it...

A couple years ago, I had a decent condition ported 2172 for sale, and the previous owner wanted it back for 'sentimental' reasons. He was trying to sell a ported 385xp, and offered to trade that saw for mine. I needed cash, but I figured both saws were worth about the same and I could just sell the 385, and let him have his saw back... long story short, the 385 had multiple issues including having a spun bearing, and the guy (who was well respected on the forums), basically told me to pound sand when I told him about it. I'm sure if I mentioned his name, several people on here would stand up for him...

The *s-worde head was pulling a fast one, as he was also told by the guy he got the 385 from that the saw had known issues, and that it was by no means anything but a rebuilder.

@cgraham1 where is that POS from?

I'll mention his name if you want. The guy lives for the inequitable trade.

Spill the beans

Indeed .............. I'm definately seeing it the way Randy does, air it out so we can all know who we can deal with, and who we shouldn't deal with.

I got an old logger friend I build saws for and thats about it, his colleagues has asked if I can sell some of my rebuilded saws to them, it's a no go for me, no sale no issue!

Frankly if you say something like that, I am of the opinion you should say the name. Just do it and save everyone else from a sad affair in the future.
totally agree

Any long time member knows better than to deal with him, its always a lop sided deal in his favor. However new less experienced members don`t know the background so well.

I know who it is, everything he has is made of gold and everything you have is worth scrap. If you don't offer top dollar for his stuff your a no good low balling prick.

As far as I'm concerned he can pound sand, with his face.....

I knew that description would make it easy for most to figure it out
I tried one time to buy a 394 with a bad top end. Of course he wouldn't price it so I pmed him. After a little back and forth I finally said ok i'll give you $100 for it. He went on a rant about me kicking tires. I don't price others stuff and if I do of course im gonna start low and work from there.
