I usually toss em when they get to the hash mark with about 1/8 inch left. They start breaking cutters off in frozen hardwood and you can’t get a good hook in it anymore at that point anyway.

I had this chain on the "to go" nail.
I made a few swipes with my Save edge. Cut better than I expected. .325 too [emoji6]

Clean the gullet, grind the rivet heads thinner, reshape the rakers = race chain

Today I made one cookie with the "close to the witness mark" Oregon LGX that came with my PS-550 - damn that loop is hungry.
The semi chisel I have been utilizing can't compare.

No picture of the particular loop, but I found some pictures of teeth on my tablet PC.

Sold a saw to a guy at work. As a bonus, I threw in an old chain as a spare for him. It was about 80% used up. I sharpened it like I do all my other customer's chains....clean, sharpen, set depth gauges, lube, and package in a zip-lock bag. Few days later he tells me he cut all weekend with the new saw (old 025 I had rebuilt). He said it ran great and he really likes it a lot. Then he says, "The chain got dull and I didn't have time to file it...so I grabbed that old spare chain you gave me and put it on the saw.....MAN....What did you do to that chain? It cut like a hot knife through butter! How'd you get it that sharp?" I just smiled and said, "Several years of practice, mostly!" :D
