I ordered an aftermarket hyway 044 muffler that had a baffle in it

Yes and had a few holes on the side

I take all baffles out and screen holders

Thanks for the pics CFB. Some people say the baffle adds torque to the stock saws.

I always wondered why the 046/460 had one, and the 044/440 did not. Also wondered what would happen if you put a baffle muffler on a 044/440???

The bottom pic is like the one they sent me. I drilled out the spot welds on it and the screen retainer

Stock chingchang 660 and a Stihl MS461. Both are stock. 660 has a gasket delete. Untouched mufflers and carbs. 461 belongs to @Time's Standing Stihl. I hope to have them both ported in a couple weeks and will do more vids then

What's your thoughts on the outcome of both ported? I'm guessing the cut times will be reversed, 461 ftw!

This weekend hopefully I'll have more info. She runs pretty good stock. Curious to see what they'll do after porting.

They work ok for me if I pay attention to where I'm at when checking them. 50 sucks. You must have 100 most days
