Keep in mind, that while the 262 carb physically bolted on, I had to make my own throttle and choke linkage, as well as come up with a solution for the air filter. The stock components no linger fit, as the 262 carb is physically longer than the 55 carb.

When I say non Husky, I do not mean non OEM, I will be using a closed port top end from a Partner/Jonsered cousin on the next go-round.

At one time I had a Sachs-Dolmar ??? that the top looked close.
It was used for cutting stone. The ones that were not cleaned religiously did not last very long. Operator thing.
I barked at the owner (good friend) that he needed to keep several filters on hand. He sold the saw and bout a JD, multiple filters, a water hose hook up and drove on for a long time.

Another friend hooked up a mini-bike gas tank as a water feed.
I laughed and said, brilliant.
Stone dust is tough on saw parts, and people...

I just put this 55 together this morning, 028 piston, and an open port cylinder. It runs pretty goid for what it is. Its gonna have to break in before I get a good idea of what it can do.
