I figured I'd start a new thread so it could be found easily. This is a test on the Dyno of which filter setup provides the most power. In my opinion the Dyno is not refined enough yet for these results to be considered fact. But with what we had here are the results.
I will post each setup with a picture and the Dyno run charts.

Here is the saw with a factory hd filter without the wrap. It has the cover on and the filter setup that is in the second picture.

Interestingly when I removed the max flow filter, I found this.

It looks like the filter was coming apart a little. Maybe if I had blown it out first it would have been ok.

Assuming this data is correct, Why would it make more power with some filtration, than with wide open flow? Any theories?

Turbulence at the entry of the intake? The filter smooths out the airflow into the carb throat?
