High Quality Chainsaw Bars Husqvarna Toys Hockfire Saws

When do different bars numbers and drive link counts interchange between saws?

OK, I have a red Poulan 3700 and have been thinking about an other saw. Was looking real hard at the Dolmar 6400 and Echo CS-590, etc series. The Dolmar uses a different bar mount pattern. Don't want to stock another bar pattern. So, the Echo uses the same mount, D176 I believe, but different bar numbers and different DL counts. Will the factory bar interchange or is it a case of the factory bar won't fit the Poulan and the current Poulan bar won't fir the Echo. But if I bought new D176 mount bars they would interchange between the saws because the new bars would have the same DL count between them? Am I making sense?

The echo uses the d176 mount 70 dl for 20"

The 6400 should be d009 72 dl for 20"

If the poulan uses the d176 it will fit the echo. Some bars have odd drive link counts due to the size /shape.

I just bought a D009 mount for the 3.7 (d176) cuz you can use spacers, s-clips or somthing, but not other way around.

Everything is the same except the mount, some sizes may be really hard to find in certain mounts if at all. That adapter looks to fit only huge stihl mounts. I will make adapter for mine

I have interchanged the echo bar and chain between my 590 and 3700
The 20 was 70 drivers, the 24 was 81
Used the same bar and chain

Certain other things need to line up like oil hole it has, one or the oil channel needs to hit the right places on the bar/chain. But what from what I hear that's only what the d176-d009 needs is spacers
