Stock 018C carb on left, WT 215 on right.

Have to plug off the original impulse hole (hence the Dirko) and remove the brass plug that was in the pulse passage.

Linkage is the same, 215 is fully adjustable.

Installed and holes drilled for tuning.

Going back together after cleaning and getting new bearings dropped in

I’d just like to take a minute here and thank @Onan18 for donating everything for this build. Joe allways works behind the scenes, and is usually the unsung and very quiet driving force behind builds like this. More than most even realize

Looks like you got some nice clean cases this time, no welding needed?
Nope, and I was looking forward to trying out the new blue tungsten I grabbed ............ I’ll be welding the next one up, both halves too.

This 394 is in great shape, as you said, it ate its piston and cylinder because the previous owner wasn’t exactly using 394 parts, and the ethanol ate the already replaced fuel line8A48BD7C-6FEC-4BB4-8C00-BC0274EB3A17.jpeg7D37C877-6064-40C7-8F23-A86D5C13DD2E.jpegFA9FDE51-08A9-468E-894D-901CEFE87304.jpeg0240E14A-E03B-45F0-9ACE-A0885731D010.jpeg7E564AEF-58F0-4676-9077-1A9F77637BEE.jpeg

My first attempt at a dual port. The welds are oogly, I know, but it cleaned up ok.
Looks good from here.

One thing to watch out for is where the exhaust is directed. Looks like your left hand may get a little warm if your holding the saw on its side.

The pic is a little misleading, both exhaust ports are at 45* from the cyl face. Since the muffler face is angled to the right it was a bit of a pain to setup and verify. I made some test cuts in the pouring rain yesterday and the exhaust blows well away from the hands and when the brake is activated only 1/2 of the flywheel side port is covered and pipe does not interfere with the brake handle.

Slowly getting together, going to get the case halves together and start adding the appurtenances, then get that 394 cylinder, that @Mastermind cleaned up and sent to me for this project, setup on my lathe. @longleaf wants more torque and not so much speed ........ thats right up my alley, so machining and porting will reflect that.
