The 7900 LIVES!! Well, it starts and runs. Since the muffler and brake flag hasn’t gotten here yet I just did a quick fire. WOW!
The 28” Sugi bar and HD airfilter assembly should be here Monday, then have to diligently search for a cheap full wrap.
Don’t judge my garage; it is a shared “workspace” with the spousal unit and she seems to think she owns the whole damn thing.

Roughed in my China 372 big bore cylinder forMy 2071 jonsered(first time grinding)! Haha Got a 272 piston cut into a pop up for it. With the machine work and some grinding on the bottom side, the piston is down to 70 grams. Stock piston in this saw is showing 81 grams and 2cc smaller.

I’m in the process of building new bench.
Got a great deal on two 46 inch Huskys that are unusual in that they are 24” deep instead of just 18”. Figured they would be the perfect candidates for this workbench build I have been kicking around for a bit.
Should be done with it tomorrow.

Oh it runs alright! Neighbor’s kids were outside playing (5 boys all under 6 years old and they are accustomed to saws running from my garage) when I fired it up. They dropped what they were doing and just stared. It was LOUD! Surprised the hell out of me.

where are you finding parts for them saws? Like seals and bearings maybe a piston?TA 3750.......I got a little carried away cleaning it up.....

Running is one thing, running at it's best is another. Most saws (not all) will benefit from some back pressure.

@tree monkey's 064/066 ran best with no muffler if I remember right.
And I've never seen a saw lose from adding muffler opening. It's just not as user friendly

I have. If you don't have enough adjustment left in your carb, you will loose low end. Hate to quote him, but the AH was right on that one!
I've also seen saws not idle right or spool up with too much opening. It may be just a can, but timing the pulses is important. Just like your most accurate loads in the gun will correspond with the barrel at the high or low point of the whip. It may not be a sophisticated tool, but it is a tool!

She turned out nice.
Yeah, I once started my PS-7900 in my dads "shop" without a muffler!
I was so surprised by the level of noise my finger couldn't locate the kill switch for a couple moments.
My ears were ringing the entire remainder of the day.
