The problem was home like gas caps, and or oil you need to take it slow because there’s always a duck Bill people go all crazy before they realize how it’s actually engineered
The problem with Homelite gas and oil caps is they had the black gooey duck Bill come 20 years later and even 5 you’re supposed to figure out why everything doesn’t run the same

Finally got this thing together.. I guess you could call it half redmax and half jonsered...going to be selling this soon..
Which parts did you use REDMAX on and I don't know what the REDMAX size is a Stepchild to a 2188/2186.
Your saw sure does look Purdy. I will try to watch for your listing.

BP-1 is (was) a unique "balanced piston" design with one piston firing, and the other acting as a counter balance and sliding intake valve. The action of the balance piston working 180° to the firing piston increases the displacement within the crankcase for a supercharging effect.

We spent most of the day working on the primer for this one. The internals were not in good shape.

I wonder if parts like that could be printed.

Dirty saw contest....I'll start
I worked on a neighbor's MS 311....he uses used motoroil for his bar and chain oil, I should have gotten a picture of it, the clutch area was caked in motor oil and sawdust that got baked on. Though I would take motor oil over transmission fluid, I hate the smell of transmission fluid!!

Yup…they had been using Costco cooking oil. Makes black concrete when mixed with Pine, Fir and heat. The caustic “purple” type cleaners do cut it…after 3 days of soaking. The last one I had from them (firewood yard) was a 362. It was so bad I did a complete tear down and rebuild.

So…was this model created by some off-worlder from a weird, bastardized version of our planet? The only thing on it that resembles other Stihl 1128 saws is the clutch cover and the spark plug. 😳
