I recently purchased an 044 that Brad Snelling built entirely from NOS parts in 2013. The thing was only ran once at a get together for a few minutes, then shelved. The only flaws are a chip in the paint and a couple of scratches from shelf wear. It's a 12mm with a slant fin top end and metal tags. Cool, right? The problem is I don't actually know what to do with it. I have a MOFO 440 hybrid, so I don't have a reason to run it. My options are: let it sit, run it anyways, port it and run it, trade it for something ported and fun, or sell it outright. What would you do?

If Brad built it I’d assume it has been ported.

Be prepared for jokers to message you saying they used to buy them for $649 all day long and whatever you are asking is highway robbery.
Fairly certain I paid under $500 new in the box at the dealer for 10mm late 80s, back then they were only a work saw with no collector value.

Back in the mid 70s I paid an extra $400 for 4 wheel drive as no one was buying a 4X4 pickup except farmers and loggers.

it's technically more preferable than a 10mm, runs the same slant fin cylinder with a beefier crank. Plus the aesthetics of the old metal badges.
Technically maybe.
Still have each from my original saws cranks were never an issue for me, lost from the back of truck or ran over with skidder yes but never the cranks.

From a collector standpoint I would reason the 10mm should be of higher value, if the cranks were an issue there should be far fewer examples surviving.
