That must be frustrating after all the work involved,, good it was caught
in time though.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could machine our cylinders from a suitable
material, add slip on fins to cool, might be a little more weighty, was there
ever cast iron cylinders in saws.

If anything it would still be an aluminum jug with a cast iron bore.

Was thinking that after I posted, have a compressor with an aluminium outer
and a cast iron sleeve, that was the reason I bought it, as well as the fact it
ran a few hundred rpm slower for the same cam output.
Maybe buy a big jug, sleeve it and bore to suit.

Electrolux to Mahle: We want cheaper prices on the cylinders You are making for us!

Mahle to Electrolux: Sure!

Mahle to their production department: Reduce surface treatment time and completely cut quality checks on all Husqvarna/Electrolux products!

Electrolux CEO: That'll get me millions in bonuses this year.

Husqvarna customers: WTF!!!

This is exactly what happened to Firestone in the late 90s....

FORD. We will order many million units of this size for the Gen2 Explorer at price X.
FIRESTONE Engineers. It can't be done for that price.
FIRESTONE Sales/Mgmt. What if we made them a bit lighter. You know, left something out......
EXPLORER owners. These things roll over a bit easy don't they.
.
We received this model all the way down in NZ. Every vehicle had to come in and have the Wilderness A/T oem tyres removed and replaced with local made, stronger product. The Wilderness A/T would not even stay in shape when stacked 4 high, which was inconvenient because there were many of them.....Firestone didn't survive that mistake. Hello Bridgestone......

My sincere apologies to anyone who was affected directly by this, those vehicles were death-traps as delivered, but could be made perfectly servicable. $$.

Adam.
