You are talking yourself right out of a job. Plug and play battery stuff will cost many jobs. Long live the carbon footprint of exhaust!
Using the 3/4 fast idle postion on the mastercontrol is the same way. Most folks have never been shown the correct starting procedure

100% agree on the tune, maintenance and chain. Im also still surprised at what happened to the 800 oil.
One thing is certain is all oils arent created equal and what is even more surprising is theres still people dropping in on this oil conversation saying oil is oil!!

I entertained getting another battery trimmer to replace the heavy but powerful commercial Core Outdoor Power unit I have but there are many gas units that are lighter. My keeper weed eater, the RA100-300 champ, is 9 pounds 15 ounces with 1/2 tank of gas and full twin factory spool. The Echo I just got free yesterday is a tank in comparison. Now build quality....well you know, it's an Echo.
Problem with most battery units is the unit bears the weight of the battery. Invest in the Stihl AP system and u wont be sorry. The unit as shown weighs 8.9lbs and the battery which is 2.5 is worn on the waist to bear the weight20200523_074057.jpg 20200523_074102.jpg

Well gents, this is going to be a yard / garden type weekend. I'm heading outside for the day. Get out in the sunshine. Vitamin D helps with the cronizzle as well as the ultraviolet light kills the sh!t out of it. Or so they say as of now. Later oil dorks.:risas3:
:zpong:
Enjoy the sunshine. Rained Tuesday thru Friday here. 60 percent chance today, Sunday and Monday. I am so sick of it.

If I were to buy a new Echo trimmer it would be that one. If it wasn't fer me neck problems I'd already have one. Instead if I were to go new, I've been looking into the Husqvarna 522L. Haven't seen one yet but super light.
I looked up the Husqvarna one. I like the looks of it except for the throttle trigger. It just looks like it could easily be broken off when hauling in the back of a truck or trailer. It may be perfectly fine, just looks like a weak point to me.

We got near 10" of rain in two weeks here. We have water in places on the property that I've never seen it before. Hope we can plant the garden this weekend.
We got over 8" in 3 days. My garden is pretty much washed away. I just planted it last Saturday. They were not calling for all the hard down pours at that time, just steady rain.

My OPE stays home. No hauling anywhere. I'm pretty happy with the weed eater that survived the Red Armor testing. Light and powerful enough for me. The waist battery set up Kieth showed has piqued my interest for future reference. 8.9 in the hand is light as heck.
Anyway, back out. Lunch over.
That battery weedeater is one hell of a good weedeater. As well as the hedger and polesaw that attaches to it also. No brainer for me and everytime I use the setup I convince myself that selling all my handheld gas weedeater, polesaw, and handheld blowers was the right choice 100%

I'm surprised you don't miss the 2 stroke smell or just hearing or feeling the mechanics of an engine tuned perfectly in your hands.

That said however I did order last year a
tri-motor Tesla pickup truck. This either will be a love it or hate it purchase.

When do you get the truck?

You should setup a solar powered charging station for all your battery gear DIY it's easy and cheap to setup now days.
I'm 100% off grid I don't pay or rely on anyone for my power.

Y'all sure are quiet if I'm not wreckin on 2 strokes. Anywho, garden 99% in. Gotta plant the marigolds around the tomatoes yet. Supposed to ward off those big arse nasty horned tobacco worms that like to eat all up on the plants. First time trying them. Borage is supposed to be even better, so I'm told, but we couldn't find any locally. Maybe next year.

The BM100-300 test unit got beat like rented mule all weekend by the nephew. He has trimmed at least 2 acres of that 12-15" field grass with it. Its on 36:1 Red Armor now. His mix. I told him more oil is betterer especially in this hurt unit. She breaks up at wot till warmed up real good since the score, then she just sings.

Going to buy a Mantis tiller today. Getting the 4 stroke Honda over the 2 stroke Echo powered unit. Screw 2 strokes. Later dudes.

4 strokes take oil too...
