It don’t make a damn to me what folks handgun preference is in the long run. I’m a diehard Springfield and Ruger kinda guy...to each their own. I’m gonna kill you the same when you enter my home after the lights are out...bottom line.

We can hash this *s-wordt ten ways to hell, like the Oil Thread...enough said. Get what you need to protect yourself, your family, your loved ones.

I hear you mack.
I feel pretty much the same way.
If you come in, you're not leaving the same way you entered.
If you have several slug holes in you, or are filled with buck shot.
Somebody is gonna cry at your funeral. :machinegun:

Suprised my sister this morning and bought the g3 full size it's glock 23ish size and not much bigger than the g2
And holds 17 rnds extended and 15 flush mag
20200620_095327.jpgshe believed it was a .22 like her s&w I got her20200620_102005.jpg and she shot it very well20200620_100818_HDR.jpgcould not get her to stop the revolver grip
But her hands are so small
The slide doesn't get near her thumb.20200620_101932.jpg she's never shot a pistol more than a couple times
And did very well in the IDPA targets
After a few rounds all the shots were
In the head at 21ft
I liked it so much i bought the g2c on the way home
Whichever she likes I'll take the other one.
I like the simple design load and lock
Down to fire 1911ish20200620_174756.jpg

My personal preference is Glock 27, I have Trijicon night sights on it, Streamlight TLR6 light/laser, Hogue overmold grip. I put a Haley Skimmer trigger in it, and I use Glock 23 13rd magazines in it with XGrip slip over grip extensions to give it a Glock 23 type of grip.

I changed the slide stop to a Vickers extended stop and a Tango Down magazine release.

Yup, take your pick. Make sure your weapon/ammo will go bang EVERY time, and practice with it a lot. Familiarity with your kit is key.

My 2 cents. Take it for what it's worth.

Taurus G2 and G3 are probably the best possible value in pistols today. We sell tons of them at my side job shop, often times people will come back and buy a second or third one.
My wife has the purple G2C and i’m not afraid to take it and shoot it. Its a nice shooting gun. One day I had it and some guy chuckled and said “haha your gun is purple”. Look *a-hole, #1 its not mine and #2 it’ll kill you (not him personally) just like anything else so GFY. Then i saw his carry gun was was a .22. Open carry at that:risas3:

I haven't shot Taurus or been around them since the 90s when the pt100 and pt92 were still made on berreta
Machinery in Brazil.
Several of us shot idpa with them until I found
Cz75s
I ended up with the g3 she preferred the g2c20200623_150602.jpg
I have over 500 rounds through the g3
Flawless shooter very accurate good trigger.
250+ through the g2c no issues i like the g3 trigger better.20200623_125605.jpgMy friend wanted a g2c
So we went to gun store's today.
Cabelas pistol racks is virtually empty even through they are overpriced.
Two Bridgeport equipments and a rural king
said they sell as they arrive
I was lucky the one's i bought last week arrived that morning.
I'll buy a g3c 9mm or wait until the g3c when .40 it comes out.
You get a lot of gun for the money.

Held the Glock 43X today and the SIG P356XL.
I liked the SIG better personally.
Incidently, my youngest son bought the Glock,
and my oldest bought the SIG. They were gun shopping
together. All good. Have a good night.

Guns are almost back to normal stock levels around here. Common handgun ammo is still very hit and miss.

Stock is not back to normal at all here. Most all the handguns are GONE at Academy here. A fairly large independent store with a range in a neighboring city is where these 2 were purchased
yesterday. This particular store is well stocked with plenty available. The guy at Academy stated the handguns they get in suitable for personal protection are sold the same day.
AR's and even shot guns are all gone.

Worked at the store today. Handguns are back to normal levels, ammo is still sputtering along but coming in regularly. Strangely, common hunting shotguns are the hardest thing to find right now. We havent had a Remington or Mossy for at least a month.

I've carried a few guns when I was back in Texas. I always settled back on a Glock 19.

The Glock 19 I bought back in 1994, and still have in a safe in the US:

I used to shoot IDPA and the local combat matches back in Texas. I found that hitting often and accurately was what worked, and for that, the 9mm worked best for me.

My first love were 1911's. And I have owned a few 45's. The last one was a 9mm, tho.

Damn straight.

Ruger, Springfield, S&W and Taurus are my preference. I hate to admit it, but I was a glock dumbazz a while back. Had a new 21 explode on the 8th round. Had nothing but a bad experience with their warranty and shipping. I'll never own another. (Going on 12yrs and I haven't even been tempted)

Nothing but praise for the other above brands. They have been top notch and put the customer service above and beyond. Especially Taurus, for inexpensive guns they have first class service.

Steven

Edit: s&w has always been good to me. But I have heard they aren't run the same as when I was a active shooter. And I hear the half breed wather/s&w firearms don't get the same warranty coverage that the old s&w's would receive. That was disappointing to find out.
