welding helmet

Does anyone have experiance with eastwood welding helmets ? I currently have an el-cheapo $35 helmet , and i can't see very good , more like guesswork ... So , I'm curious about this helmet .http://www.eastwood.com/extra-large-view-welding-helmet.html

i have a 220mig welder from them and metal shears the tools are usually made by other companies for eastwood the hood looks familiar but not sure the brand i didnt look to see how many sensors are in it but what i have gotten from them has been good so far i couldnt complain about anything i did break a piece on the shears i was trying to cut to heavy of metal and a jaw broke i called them told them what i did and they sent me a new set of jaws so i would try the hood

Looks like the cheaper version Viking to me. If they are similar or the same as a Viking I would highly recommend it.

Never used one of those but does look a lot like the Viking or Lincoln. I'm a pipeliner hood guy myself

Yea pancake hoods are where it's at. I have a Lincoln branded Viking and love it. I have used a speed glass once and thought it was pretty nice as well. The farm has 4 or 5 miller ones and they haven't even came close to holding up as well as my Viking.

speedglas hoods are heavy they are good hoods but too heavy when you dont weld at a bench and open area i use a 100 dollar save phace hood from ebay they weigh 10 ounces and are short to fit in tight areas

I test in the Speedglas sometimes. I forgot it this time so it's pipeliner only

I currently use a Lincoln Viking but I would also recommend the auto darkening Westward helmets sold through Grainger.

when i broke shears from them and was my fault i told them it was my fault and asked if i could buy the jaws of the shears they said they would send me a set and was no charge so they are good to deal with
