The cylinder had some type of passage on the flywheel side of the intake port floor that connected with the base of the cylinder. Had to be careful not to grind through it.

I may just fill the entire tube with some bondo and widen the intake more. Not sure why they put it there anyway.

Dang that belt sander, wood chisel, and drill press did a mighty fine job

Spot on!!...I was expecting something looking like the Geico Neanderthal done give porting a go...and not too shabby...for a 17yr old. Oh Mooooooo....
