Lawn boy 8241AE will not start after I have the carb a good cleaning. As far as I know I reconnected everything correctly.

The mower will fire right up if I spray a bit of carb cleaner in the carb though

I've been trying to get the mower to idle faster as well and haven't had any luck there either

Any help much appreciated 👍

Fuel may not be getting to the carb from the tank. If fuel is in the bowl, something may still be dirty, not allowing the fuel to be drawn up through the carb. The primer bulb or primer hose might be shot. When you pump the primer, does gas push up into the carb?

Have you gotten this straightened out? Not trying to sound like a jerk, but did you turn the fuel shutoff back on? Or possibly the thin coil spring popped off the air vane for the governor. Pull the fuel line from the carb then open the shutoff. If you have fuel flow from the tank, then it’s definitely a carb issue. Possibly even something blocking the inlet needle or a bent float tab not letting the needle open up.

Matt
