Struggle (Shane) contacted me a few weeks ago about a David Bradley snow blower he saw on FBMP. Needless to say, he picked it up for me and I was planning to drive over today to collect it when he unexpectedly had to make a trip east passing right by my place.

I need to figure out how to include this in the display.

I'm pretty sure I'm the first one on my block to own one like this.

I never heard of those before. That's really neat. I've had David Bradley saws but never knew they made stuff like that.

Mike finally got a break from all of the cold weather emergencies and got started on installing the "boiler" today. This unit will provide the radiant floor heating as well as domestic hot water.

I decided to have them paint the floor upstairs, I plan to move all of the parts from the existing building as well as the stuff I still have in the attic of the garage at my house down the block. Stairs on the left go up to the attic of the 1st building.

They are painting it in sections just in case I need to collect any parts from over there...

The boiler is installed, gas hooked up, and the building is now heated via radiant heat in the floor. Since so much time had passed between laying the tubing and finally getting things hooked up it took a few attempts before they got the zone valves connected to the correct thermostats...then they had to learn some details of the communication between the wireless sensors and the thermostats...but now it seems to be sorted out.

Last week the contractor installed the hoist, now I need to come up with a pallet or a box to facilitate moving the larger, heavier items up to the second level.

20260218_072642.jpg

The contractor also put up some shelving in the storage area over the covered parking at the rear of the building. There is enough room to put the tote 2 deep on the bottom but for now I have enough space. I suspect it will eventually fill up given the amount of stuff in the other attic and still in my garage.

Standards for the shelving are going in up front in the display area. A friend in town is busy putting the shelves together from 3/4" plywood and poplar. The boxes are the chrome wire shelving units that will cover the floor in the display area.

20260222_162559.jpg

There is a local fellow (Cedar Falls, IA) that does a lot of kart restorations. Some while back I rebuild some carburetors for him and I had the finished engine in the display for some time.

20250916_102821.jpg

He'd found a suitable kart for the engine (1962 McCulloch) and put it together. When someone wanted to buy the engine he was reluctant to separate the engine from the kart so he made me and offer I couldn't refuse and I've added it to the collection. Once I can start moving stuff into the new building, I will rearrange things in the original building (the "McCulloch Building") and add the kart in there.

Shelving brackets are up, standards for the other wall have arrived, and more brackets are on order.

20260304_154254.jpg

Kitchen cabinets are in place, because of the odd "U" shaped layout and narrow cabinets on the short wall we are going with a built up counter top and will add laminate when it arrives in 10 or 12 days. I will get a sink fairly soon so he can get it cut in.

20260304_164723.jpg

Upstairs there will be a sort of kitchenette in the open area where I will be moving the parts. I am trying to build some future flexibility and appeal into this building and it is set up so there can be an apartment in the upper level one day. There will be a sink as well, and the open space will accommodate a mini fridge.

20260304_164943.jpg

I went all out with cabinets in the new shop area as well. Mrs. Heimann plans to use this area for hosting family gatherings, super bowl parties, you get the drift. I promised she can use the long counter top for buffets...win, win, win. I plan to move all of my small parts bins with hardware items to that space between the counter top and the upper cabinets, thus the plywood strip.

Her large screen TV is up with a couple of additional base cabinets that I will be using for shipping supplies. We did have everyone that could make it here for the Super Bowl a few weeks back.

20260304_164851.jpg

I also picked up a large 3 section lateral file that I will be using to store some surplus documents, and displaying some interesting bits on the counter on top.

20260304_164814.jpg

Finally, I have started setting up some shelves in the open area upstairs and hope to start moving some parts over this weekend.

That looks great and all Mark, however, no black tire marks on the floor from doing donuts is a bit of a disappointment. :(

If you don’t have one of these we need to find one for you to display, the old McCulloch labeled superchargers prior to the renaming to Paxton. The vettes, t-birds and some of the willeys/kiaser cars were available with one from factory in the 50’s.

So they control the zones with shut offs on each loop on the manifold?

This place just amazes me.
It is neater in person, definitely worth a visit and when I was there last summer the new section was just barely framed out. There are a lot of neat things there and with the new space he will be able to get more out on the floor. I think it will still be crammed full...only because he has so much cool stuff there!!
