The idea is to move the parts inventory to the new attic space, ideally we will recheck the counts and parts identification as we move everything over and bring the remaining items from the attic in my garage. Once I have things properly laid out I plan to get serious about selling parts that I have in excess.

The lower level is basically a duplicate of the existing building with more display area up front, the middle section will be set up to provide easy access to literature, brochures, magazines, and display some of the interesting memorabilia. Right now many of these kinds of items are still stashed away in drawers and cabinets.

The new shop area in the back will be primarily used for small parts, hardware, and for a better area to pack and ship.

I have been having the same struggles, Mark. Sorting through boxes and finding ways to display all the collected stuff. My wife brought me this magazine rack she found for free so all my Chain Saw Age and other related magazines fit perfectly:

These date back into the 1960's and just glancing at them as I put them in the rack I was amazed at some of the history available in the articles mentioned on the cover. Plenty of rainy day reading material.
Your place is coming along well. I am maybe 1/3 of the way along at getting my shop and display space setup. Good thing I am retired!

I can't believe you saved that pic from 2009! Steve (on the right) passed away a few years ago, and I am much greyer on top now.
Displaying manuals and books and magazines is challenging. Trying to scan them all into PDF files even more so...

Well you can definitely tell that is not being built in California....they are using gang nails instead of glue!! It is looking good!! I am guessing the attic space is the chainsaw storage expansion!
Some parts of Iowa are a bit more relaxed.

I'm still waiting for some Homelite or Poulan enthusiast to come up with a large sign for the front of the new building, otherwise I have another large McCulloch sign I can use to match the existing building thanks to Definitive Dave Smith.

There was a nice Homelite one still on a shop just southeast of you. It has been years but it might still be there. In August 2008 or 2009 I was up in your area trying to get a Bridgeport mill. I saw the sign on my way back but it was a Saturday afternoon and no one was around to speak with. I also was in a hurry as I had to run south a few more hours for a tractor pull. I always planned on getting back up to check on the sign but never did.

I could get lost in the books and manuals alone.
