Do it help the performance at all. The main reason I'm trying to find something is for performance. That is a cheap price though to bad they don't make them for bigger cc.
seemed to help a little bit.

I understand air filters are very restrictive

I can't tell a difference in that and the max flow. They seem to be made from the same material though.

A couple of my saws have them. They were on the saw when I got it. I remember saws from the early 80's having them or "green weenies on them. They were quite common.

Here's a rough looking 480 CD I traded for. Straight from killin' trees in the PNW in the early 80's, remember this is the lil' brother to the 2100 CD

Cleaned up, muffler mod, and a new throttle lever to replace baling wire and this saw runs outstanding. Part of these two saws performance is the bigger air filter and velocity stack.

Here's mine. To be honest, I don't know what difference it made, because the saw had a v-stack on it when I got it and I don't have the parts to return it to factory configuration.

The reason you see this sort of filter set up on these early 80's saws is that it made more power and was easier to clean/run longer between needing to be cleaned.
Funny how I dont have my original parts either. People threw out the stock filter parts as these set ups were better than factory.

Nice saw.

I would like to know if this makes any noticeable performance difference. I know there will be better filtration and perhaps better flow, but has anyone ever dyno'd a saw or did some timed cuts?

They all look really cool with thwse setups. Does the maxflow setup have a different intake? they look like they will filter good and still flow alot of air.
