Which chain type is "MS"...typically the Stihl options are RS, RSF, RRM, PS3, PS, PM/PM3, PD3, RD3, RDR and GBM. If I understand correctly the MS on Stihl chainsaws stands for Motorsäge -German for Motor Saw.
I am guessing that you maybe meant RS (rapid super) instead of MS, which tend to cut faster but will dull faster compared to RM (rapid micro) which will cut a little slower, but will dull slower.
Edit: However, when in dirt....all will dull faster.
Not really certain if it needed mentioned here or not anyway. There are already hundreds of threads about what type of chain works best under given circumstances. Most anyone who spends any time here reading is well aware of Stihl, Oregon, and Carlton chain nomenclature
I use scary sharp chains and watch the burs form and fall of every tooth with a round file. Keep the rakers at the proper height. Stihl, Oregon are the only chains I have run.
