Get in line Heathen.
I got an 084 already.
So I don't need another overweight conversation piece.
But it had cool factor. It's retro. Like an 090.
Wonder what it's purpose was? Thus the country of origin question.

What the hell are they cutting in Malaysia that would require a saw that size? Or are they using them to power rickshaws?? Lol..

Malaysia has the worlds highest deforestation rate. They cut down everything and anything! If you ever see ridiculous pics of 090 Stihls in rain forest areas... They are probably from Malaysia... I think there may be a reason for the Echo 1201 to have similarities to the 090 Stihl.

I see it as less than 076 weight with grunt.

Think about it: what other big saw can you possibly buy, ( although painfully), brand new that's not a dog?

I'm not sure what the intended application is.

What's the deal with the MS381, MS720, MS780?

Other models that are available from Stihl, but just not in the U.S.

As many as your imagination allows!

I'm not googling that stat for you...
Man...

That's alot..

Back to the Echo.

One thing I'd be willing to put money on. Is if all ya want is a big bar saw that starts and runs proper every time, the Echo aught to fill that slot.
If they function as properly as the smaller ones I have in the stable.

This one has been known to sit for years, and be in operation with a fresh snort of mix and a refill of bar oil.

Very Dependable.
