I got these in for a 025IMG_20201204_150038.jpg
4 chains and a bar 26.00 shipped
I'm waiting on a sprocket to convert it to 3/8 from .325IMG_20201204_150115.jpg IMG_20201204_145854.jpg IMG_20201204_145740.jpg
They are sharp but they didn't brush the ground edges
That's why some look uneven.

Chain looks like a cheap copy of Vanguard chain from looking at the rakers.

Looks like alot of bang for the buck. You gonna run one as is or file one quick and check the rakers?
I don't sharpen any of them
The 3/8 full chisel perform really good out of the box
I haven't tried these semi lp yet.

I was looking at my walmart order history and there's
50+ loop's of 3/8 72dl .50 that I got for people the past couple years
People that don't buy off the internet
Firewood seller's mostly no complaints
At all.

I know this is an old thread, but are those upstart bars any good. I'm thinking about getting one.
Neighbor's like them they have no complaints

Speaking which I think I ran into some yesterday on my neighbors Makita saw .I think it came from TSC and the angles where all over the place on the cutters .I had never seen rakers like those before .However after I filed it it was throwing the chips .BTW it was never resharpened since he bought it but who actually made it I have not a clue .

To be clear, I'm not telling anyone what to run, only providing a bit of food for thought.

I run STIHL on my STIHL saws, Oregon on everything else. STIHL seems to hold an edge better and cut 10% faster, but for the price Oregon is a good deal. I'll note cutting faster means less stress on the saw, 10% savings on a $1,300 saw is $130 savings. There's also a savings on bars, sprockets, bar oil, fuel, fuel oil, chain sharpening, and replacement chain expenses. STIHL chain seems to cut smoother and vibrate less than other brands which I think means additional bar and sprocket life. For me that makes STIHL chain worth the extra expense.

Upstart looks sharper after running it than the factory grind right out of the box, and that's pretty sad. It also looks stress fractured so there's no way I'm running it and taking the risk of embedding Chinesium-grade steel in my leg.

I got these u-conn branded Amazon chains for my 80 year old neighbor.IMG_20231005_123400.jpg
They are identical to the upstart chains I've bought before
He needed 4 semi chisel chains to cut brush with but couldn't afford 80-90.00 local for them
I got these for 28.99 shipped for 4 chains
I'll see how they hold up for him and I'll be sharpening them.
