Wondering if anyone can offer help with deciding what new hydro pump to go with on a TW-6. Got a buddy with one that blew up and was quoted at $1000 for a replacement . I see a few 22GPM 2 stage pumps at surpluscenter.com http://www.surpluscenter.com/Hydraulics/Hydraulic-Pumps/2-Stage-Log-Splitter-Pumps/ and not sure what "brand" or differences there are between them . Can't call Timberwolf till tomorrow so any advice would be great in the meantime.

Happy splitting.
( mods if ya wanna move this to a proper forum, by all means do)

Seems high. I priced those pumps around 500 delivered two years back. 22pm two stage 3/4" x 1" hose ports.
Don't remember where. Check Amazon

The one I priced was of good quality as not made in Asia.

How old is the splitter?

Old units were a 28GPM Barnes
Newer units went to a 22GPM Barnes
Then to a 22GPM MTE

Brand new units are going through a few changes.

Timberwolf is now owned by Automated Biomass Systems. All production has moved out of Rutland Vermont and to Marathon NY.

It's a 2007 tw7. Everything I read in the manual stated 22gpm. They stopped making the 7 soon after. Mechanically the 7 was closely related to the TW6 which is more common. But the pumps and valves are all similar (I have a 6). Surpluscenter are all much cheaper. (In the link I posted above)
There is no markings I can find on my pump to ID it.
Wonder if the 28gpm units were used more when they went away from the autocycle valves...
I no likey the non autocycle.

That splitter would of had the 22GPM Barnes Pump.

The TW-7 has the same engine, pump, and cylinder as the TW-6.

The reason for going from 28GPM to the 22GPM was to lower the hyd temps.

The autocycle valves went away because of insurance and warranty costs.
