Pretty big Leyland Cypress. Ol mans yard tree. I couldn't do much with it. Heavy leaner in the wrong direction. Used a tractor w forks and a pallet to get as high as I could go. Worked from top down. My 346 won't start.... used my 55. It was more like 3 trees in one sorta a *f-worded up snag like deal. Dead stand. I didn't firewood any of it. Old man didn't want it. It's the majority of the brush pile in the background. It's gone anyhow.Other saws involved included his 044 slant fin 24", ms261 28", ms250 14", ms260 16" picco, echo355t 12", and 2095 32".
If you want good heat out of poplar treat it like boxelder, cut it mid summer and burn it that winter, get a lot more life out of it that way. Less initial heat, lasts lots longerNow I have to cut a whole bunch of softer wood. I think it is a poplar. It takes a year or so to dry out and be good to burn. Doesn't coal up though. Just burns to ash like a cigarette. Go figure.
That's a monster!View attachment 63445 Here's one I spanked old mother earth with, it was an old spike top... 200 feet of logs in her. Maybe 10 bushel...
At 4500 feet elevation, my old 394 has only ran a 50 inch cannon she's about due for a new slug...
