Trees you've cut

Finally got back out to the urban woods to vanquish some more of the dead ash trees that are looming over my friends driveway. The longer they stand the scarier they get. With the rot they just like to randomly snap off. Sometimes five feet in the air, sometimes thirty five.

You and me both! Especially rotting fungus infested ash. It's just scary.

Dead Elm, 272XP with 24" bar (not long enough - tree was 50"+ ACH) Homeowner tied a rope to it to help pull lol!!

Another old Tanbark Oak, with a Madrone leaning into and limb locked in it. The Madrone snapped off at the ground and helped shove the whole works downhill.

Not my work. Guy moving in out back hired some "tree" guys to cut down five oaks like this.
I talked to my wife she let them use my ladder cause they don't have climbing equipment? And no truck ?
But I get all the wood

I started dropping trees for him he's 87 and getting slow
Big fan of the sloping back cut he is
Didn't bother with the face on this one
I wasn't there for this jobby.

Here's some of his work he has lived his whole life here except for the korean war he is a combat veteran.
there is stumps like this hundreds of them all over his property.

Today's challenge: Get this hung up red oak down without smashing the propane tank. Four other trees involved, two with significant spring pole action as they're bent but not broken. Took us 50 minutes to get it on the ground and cut into smaller pieces (not firewood)
