Totally decimated all the Ash trees, hundreds
They have to be a little bigger for the bug to get them. 4 to 6 inches.I've got a little one in my backyard, about 2". Seems healthy so far, I have my fingers crossed. Used to be a lot more of them around.
That must be a truly mighty bar to wield on that 661!!! How does the av fare using it for true duty use?View attachment 234587 View attachment 234588 View attachment 234589 View attachment 234590 View attachment 234591 Stihl 661 with a 42 for some of the bigger ones.
It’s a little sloppy, but it works just fine. I haven’t ran a 42 on this individual saw a whole lot, usually a lightweight 36. But I have had the 50 on it too. Anyways, this saw has had plenty of time on it, and I haven’t had any springs break. We just have this saw in here to cut these bigger trees, and the rest we are cutting with 461’s with lightweight 32’s.That must be a truly mighty bar to wield on that 661!!! I'm interested in that as well @CLEARCUTHow does it oil? With the long bar?
I’d probably give the 395 the edge on oiling, but I haven’t really thought the 661 has been stingy. You can’t go wrong with a good ole 395 though. How’s it compare to a 395?
