That’s normally a good time to block a face to keep them on the stump longer.

Nice cut BTW.
That's a great cut if you want it to hang on when it's leaning to a bounty or structure or to miss a tree ect. We call that the "Johny hold me tight" many different verifications. I usually pop three saw kerfs out. I seen Hypersaws bore below the apex and put a vee in it. That's good one also. I find less is more. Never had as much luck if I bore through for a true block face for some reason. Seems to peel to the out faster?

If you want to talk about falling timber off a cliff when there is only one absolute way to do it ?..,that's my way. Haha

oh c'on man, the trees aren't that BIG. Your a good cutting and can keep advancing. You are just going to get better and better and better. You can problem solve from one side. You can do everything, I know that. Please don't revert friend.
Maybe you have been drunk for awhile, lol. No, we are just using the 42 for the bigger ones, and I have a 32 for everything else. I guess it’s just a different culture, because a lot of “veteran” fallers here would be using a 42. We aren’t as crazy as you Canucks, lol!

Me on a helicopter show. 2016 Cedar target of course. Me gouging up the face to drop the junk in the draw first. This is why I have the pole on the bottom not limbed yet. Thats how I do it. Not everybody's cup of tea. (F_ck them) It's just faster. A little bit tricky as you have to keep the tops of your fly logs plus you can't always see them so it's memory. Then every gas tank or so you have to walk around and memorize the leans on all the big trees. As I was writing this a thought...what a stupid thing to do for a living.1577231346892-449630162.png

You can’t be that old young man, no idea what your age is...but you sure get my hand salute cutting trees like that. I’m 6’ 3” tall...that’s kick ass in my book, methodically cutting into something that diameter, that I could lay down across. I’ve never cut nothing not even near half that size. Impressive!

@CLEARCUT @HYPERSAWS keep the pics and videos coming guys, love seeing it!! Have to say I’m pretty jealous right now, our logging is still super slow on the coast right now and we’re finished with the Beetle kill for this winter so I’m not sure what I’ll be doing next. Just itching to fall some real timber again!!

The scenic beauty, and challenges of where you guys work, must be it's own reward.

Stay safe, enjoy, and keep posting for the rest of us.

I'm sure I would have loved doing it many decades ago!

In the remote sections of the Adirondacks there are some Hemlock over 6' in diameter and 500-600 years old, but they are all protected on Gov land.

It is rare to see a Hemlock over 3' in diameter elsewhere. They are one of the slowest growing evergreens.
