Back slab was a little thin on the shell. I don't like to take any out of the top first until they are about 7 ft/ up. That's just me.
At least you had a good secondary trail out the bottom.
That mature cedar shell is definitely strong though. That top side was in bad shape.

I was wedging a rotten tree up hill. Tree sat back hinge wood pulled. The whole but of the tree fell on the saw. Pro safety bars took the force of the hit. Saw is fine.

Sketchy dead Oak that needed to come down. Sounded like a drum when I checked it out with my 3# hammer. Much time spent on clearing the escape route. Bore cut; should have left a wider hinge but things turned out OK.

That job had a lot of oak in it. We went and bucked the arm off. It never broke, which was a little surprising.

One of two Pines we took down recently. Used this one to rig out the first one, then negative rigged pieces off itself until it was short enough to fit into the drop zone.
