I cut one UP that was already down. Big one like that.
I am fortunate, most of my jobs lately, I cut trees up that have already came down for one reason or another. All small jobs that bigger tree companies just don't waste their time doing.

This was a big white pine that me and @Scotty Overkill did this past weekend. We shared the climbing duties on this one. It had 4 big tops in it. This thing was nast like a bog big spaghetti bowl everything grown and intertwined together.

Just FYI.

Yup as what Scotty said above. Plus we didn't want and 6' to 7' spears driving down into the ground and puncturing water or sewage line. And it works nicer to keep the mess contained at the base of the tree rather than all spread out all over the yard.
This ----^

A lot of stuff we encounter we lower with a block to avoid the spears. If we can make it work we will lower a bigger chunk on a line and place the but on the chipper chute, relief cut in key places and chip it right then. No spears, no mess around the tree ;)

Loved the pics of the monster pine Scotty and Blacksmith.

Took this willow down 2 weeks ago. After it hit the ground I feel like it was still the same height. View attachment 172078
Must have been tricky to judge with that huge sprawling top. Or was it obvious it wanted to follow that big runner to the right?

There are instances where we've used a block and tackle to lower bigger limbs if we don't have a safe drop zone. We were able to make everything go where we wanted it to. We just wanted to keep the spearing to a minimum and the mess more contained.

We finished that big pine that me and Scotty took down earlier in the week. We just took the big stuff (5 gallon bucket diameter and bigger), all the rest the home owner kept for campfire wood. These two loads went to a widow that has an outdoor furnace, her grandson maintains it but they needed wood.

Here's a few tree's that me and @Scotty Overkill took down last week. 6 cedars about 50 ft tall and two large Norway spruces about 70 ft tall. Here's some pictures. All the tree's were about 3 ft off of a rickety fence.

We had to zip line all the branches off of the spruces. But we had to rope lower all of the low branches till we were able to start zip lining.

We finished up the job yesterday. With the help of my cousin's homemade log trailer wewere able to lift the logs over the 4 ft fence and hedges. Both tree's were around 30" at the butt.
