Trees you've cut

We had a monster oak in a campground get hit by lightning. Had to take it down before anyone got hurt. Bad side lean and wanted it to go to the woods. Had to jack it to get it where I wanted it.

Sorry, no after pics since my technician pushed it in the woods while I was getting a drink with ol' Betsy (D6D).

Yesterday cool windchill coming out of the north west at minus -20 below F and getting a lot colder by the weekend .
Started on a 12 poplar tree removal on a busy street all along the sidewalk. Big elementary school 1/2 block down the street.

Working alone and saws have their winter clothes on.

Spot on JB and I don't know about your part of the country but down here with our damp climate it goes black and mouldy quickly If stored in damp

I use sycamore as flat rounds to split other woods on when I use an axe instead of the tractor. When we get new volunteers on the farm that think they are tough, I give them a thick round of sycamore to split. No one has split one yet.

Just happened to catch the light just right on the lens. Different pic, same saw and stump. My first real port job, 056 with 36” 3/8 bar and full comp chain.

Just finishing lunch in my pickup answering lots of questions from elementary kids going back to school.
Sure never had this kind of attention back in the day falling timber in the bush.
Got firewood hoarders biting at the bit waiting for their free 18" firewood.

Late start this morning had to wait for the last of the late stragglers heading to school.
Got going hard around 10 o clock on 5 poplars .
Here they are. after 3 hours all piled up with about another 20 minutes to chip up some left over brush.
Going too quick jobs half done already.
