View attachment 280417 View attachment 280418 View attachment 280419 Well here's one you don't see every day... Wind blew this tree clean off the stump almost 180° onto the excavator. It was 100% my fault as I never should have been cutting this close to a piece of equipment unless said equipment was pushing the tree. Fortunately nobody was hurt and the only damage to the excavator was a bent handrail. Definitely not my finest hour but certainly a good learning experience and ego control
I don't know? I've had a lot of operators working below me in some good sized wood.
When I get nervous, I shut'er down! flag the gentlemen and wave him out. Never had one crash that way after the fact. I have lost a lot of trees in my time. You step up the game when in the distance that I speak. I can't believe how well people work below in a stricking distance Now especially when they don't know you?
I'll take it as a complement, all day long.

Been cold last few mornings. View attachment 282448Tried a loop of c85 chain yesterday. Wasn’t impressed. Credit where credit is due... I stihl like stihl RS (for box stock chain it’s hard to beat) and I ain’t no stihl nut. Husky chain seemed to come around nicely after I filed it though. View attachment 282447

I like RS chain too, I find the metal is harder which makes is more forgiving to file. Also gives it a bit more resistance to dirt etc.
